Bio Bram

I’ve been possessed by music as long as I can remember. As a toddler I sat on my aunt’s lap banging on our old piano as if my life depended on it. During my first years in basic school, every single playtime we had, I ran around with the portable cassette deck I got from my grandfather. Singing along to songs of Toto, Prince, Europe, Herman van Veen , theme songs from the “Rocky” movies and Karate Kid. When girls became one of the main reasons of living, I started writing songs trying to impress them and wooing them into my world. My passion for music grew even stronger when I got my first synthesizer and minidisk recorder. It opened up a whole new world of musical possibilities. My greatest motivation and source of knowledge was my dad. He himself, was possessed by music and theatre. If I wasn’t watching him performing in a play or directing one, I was listing with him to his records he made in the 60’s and of Jacques Brel, Paolo Conte and his all time favourites, The Beatles. Or I was singing Maria from “west side story” and many other songs with him at the piano. When I was 12 years of age I got introduced into “Het Mechels miniatuur theater” which was famous at the time with several tv-series in Belgium. (De collega’s, Het pleintje, …) For 6 years I had the chance to grow and learn, performing and singing in musical’s and play’s. In 1992 I got signed by Arcade. For a pop band called “SOS”. In 1997 I had the time of my life working as entertainer in Hotel “Esmeralda” in calla Do’r, Mallorca. Singing, dancing and doing sketches every night wore me out but gave me a firm and confident attitude on stage. Together with Esmeralda, I sung and wrote songs for our rock band “Analysis” for several years. At this moment I dedicate myself to write, compose and sing for Mundala.

Bio Esmeralda

Music was and is my first love. Inspired by the natural beauty of singers and actresses of past decades, such as Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth, Grace Kelly, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf and so many other fabulous woman. Their beauty, sensuality, courage, energy and fantastic voices changed my perspective of life. I grew up in Antwerp Belgium in a house that was never silent, listening to the records of Nat King Cole, The Platters, Roy Orbison and Tony Bennett played by my dad day in day out. My mother sung as a young girl in church and Christmas was always special for her, the only night she could perform in front of so many people. She had a tough life but her motto always was “No je ne regrette rien” by Edith Piaf, that inspired me to walk in her shoes, expressed my love for music and made it mine. I Recorded jazz songs, composed by Albert Van Dam (Rip) such as my own Dutch translation of “The man you were”, originally sung by Shirley Horn. I performed in the play “Train spotting” from Irvine Welsh and several Belgium soaps. In 1998 I was signed by Arcade for a pop band called “Freeze Frame” Together with Bram, I sung and wrote songs for our rock band “Analysis” for several years. My last and recent performance was in “Berlin’s Bundestag” for the institute for cultural diplomacy, choreography by Marc Bogaerts. At this moment I dedicate myself to write, compose and sing for Mundala.
